Artist Bio

Kristina Muñoz is a traditional watercolour artist based in Teddington, United Kingdom. Working primarily in watercolour, her paintings are shaped by observation, atmosphere, and storytelling.

Inspired by the Golden Age of British illustration, fairy tales, and the natural world, her illustration practice centres on cosy, character-led storytelling and the quiet rhythms of burrow life. In 2019, she published her own illustrated chapter book, The Teddington Teashop, a timeless tale of quiet courage, bright curiosity, and deeply rooted friendship.

A selection of published works and collaborative projects can be found in the Publications section.

In 2025, Kristina was honoured with the Coup de Cœur distinction, selected by juror John Howe, for her painting The Nymph of the Nideck Waterfall, created for the Châteaux Rhénans project competition.

Alongside her illustration work, Kristina’s studio practice has gradually moved toward a more contemplative direction. Her recent paintings approach watercolour as a symbolic language through which vision and dream take form without the need for narrative or translation into words. These works unfold as atmospheric inner landscapes, existing within the liminal space between memory and imagination, nature and myth.

Kristina welcomes opportunities for exhibitions and collaborations.
